What are the differences between the numbers?

0800 and 0808 numbers - They send a customer focused message to your customers demonstrating that you value their business and are prepared to pay for their call. 0845 numbers are one of the most popular phone numbers within UK businesses for help keeping phone charges down to local rates. Calls to 0845 numbers from mobile phone can carry higher charges than standard numbers depending upon your provider and their calling plan. 0844 numbers gives you the ability to earn revenue from incoming calls. How much is determined by the package you order from City Telecom. From a functional point fo view, 0844 numbers work in the same manner as any other number, but with the benefits that come with NGN's. 0871 numbers give you a higher revenues then the 0844 revenue, which can make it possible to fund other services and support functions. Generally, calls over the BT Network will be charged at up to 10 pence per minute at all times, costs from other providers and mobile networks may vary.

03 numbers
These were released in 2007 by the industry regulator Ofcom. 03 numbers have been introduced as an alternative to 08 numbers such as 0845, 0844, and 0871 numbers. If you have any these numbers the migration would look like this:

• 0844 changes to 0344
• 0845 changes to 0345
• 0871 changes to 0371

General differences with 03 numbers:
• 0300 0303 range is dedicated to not for profit, charity, and public sector organisations
• 0330 and 0333 is available to any business
• They operate in exactly the same manner as other non geographic number such as 0844, and 0845 numbers
• They are generally cheaper to call than 0844 or 0845 numbers
• The number can be inclusive in landline and mobile packages and tariffs
• The costs are the same to call as standard 01 and 02 numbers even from mobiles
• The perceived as your commitment to customer service, and part of a well established business

Memorable numbers operate in the same manner as other numbers listed for their category, but they can help the response rate of any marketing campaign. Repeated numbers or familiar combination of numbers within the number (111, 44444, 171717, 1234, 2000, etc) generally have the higher returns and easiest to remember.
